Many area businesses work around the clock. For many people, if they work first shift they usually do not have a problem getting to work or heading home. For the people that work second and third shifts, there may be some problems. For second shift, it is sometimes getting home after work and for third shift employees it is getting to work.
Greg Gates of the Reagan Mass Transit is hoping to remedy this problem. During the Tuesday Lee County Services Committee meeting, Gates spoke of a grant they are trying to get to offer around the clock transportation. He also said they would soon be sending a survey to local business to see if they would like to partner in the plan.
Gates believes that after they work out the kinks, this would improve a person’s quality of life and help with better job opportunities. RMT is seeking a grant from the Rural Transportation Association Program.
