Oregon Alderman Can’t Agree on Ordinance

oregon-city-2

The Oregon City Council met in session Tuesday night and had a very spirited discussion about an ordinance that the alderman can’t seem to agree on. The law in question pertains to parking or storage of recreational vehicles and trailers in residential districts. City Manager Darrin DeHaan admitted that this is a difficult topic to work through and hoped that tonight it would get resolved.

Two measures that they all agreed on was that it’s necessary to keep the area around the vehicle or trailer tidy with no long grass growing around it, along with that it can’t be used as permanent housing. Despite those two stipulations, Mayor Ken Williams motioned to table this for the second time which was unanimously approved.

In other news, DeHaan thanked city workers for a job well done with the resurfacing of many residential streets throughout the city. A new paving system was used that cut down on dust and dirt which was appreciated by residents.
