If you have driven on South Galena Avenue in Dixon, you may have noticed some ground being worked on at the Gateway Development.
During the most recent Dixon City Council meeting, City Attorney Dan Langloss informed the council what was going on. He stated the group Dixon Land Group, who is overseeing the development, is building a new retail area. Langloss said there is talk about what stores are coming into the strip mall, however, he is not at liberty to say whom.
Langloss did say the plan is a small strip mall with about four or five new stores going in. The plan is to begin construction later this fall.
It was also revealed that something the City has wanted for years is finally happening. A second McDonalds Restaurant is coming to Dixon. This new fast food establishment would also be at the Gateway Development.
