The Dixon Police Charitable Association’s Annual Fund Drive is currently under way. The department recently sent out mailers to approximately 450 homes and business in the Dixon/Lee County area. The proceeds help them assist with many community programs, including but not limited to:
* Christmas Shop With A Cop Program
* Clothes for Kids School Program
* Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center
* Cops and Bobbers
* Special Olympics of Illinois
* Emma Hubbs Tennis Classic
* Food baskets for the elderly and less fortunate
These donations are the departments only source of income, and they only have one fundraiser per year. The Dixon Police Department do not make phone solicitations to citizens in the community, and urge anyone that receives them to contact the Dixon Police Department to verify their validity.
If you would like to contribute, donations can be dropped off at the Dixon Police Department, 220 S. Hennepin Ave., Dixon. Every donation is put to good use.
