It was steamy hot outside but nice and cool inside at SVCC for their Board of Trustees meeting held Monday night. After approving the customary consent agenda, there were a few presentations. Dr. Jon Mandrell, VP of Academics and Student Services talked about the Licensed Educator Accelerator Pathway or LEAP Program.
Mandrell went on to explain that in support of this educational pipeline the administration has worked closely with K-12 partners creating a pathway for an innovative state funded bachelor’s degree program. In other news, Dr. Lori Cortez, VP of Advancement talked about the Community Education Program. It’s dedicated to serving students to offer a wide range of things to enjoy including trips and tours, professional development opportunities, special interest, hobby programs, and engaging college for kid’s activities.
