An Much Anticipated Road Repair Begins in Sterling

A major road repair in Sterling has begun.

During the Sterling City Council meeting Monday night, City Manager Scott Schumard said the work on Light Street has begun.  He said this would be a big project that could take 8-weeks to accomplish.  They thought of pushing it out to October.  The fear here was it going unpaved over the winter.  Schumard called that a worst-case scenario.

Schumard pointed out the work is not just repaving the road.  The work on Light Street consists of a new pipeline being put down the length of the street as well as other major work.

In other news: the council presented a couple proclamations.  The first was for the National Night Out.  The other was for the 150th anniversary for Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church.
