On Thursday, July 17, Ogle County Deputies responded to the intersection of S Chana Rd and E Flagg Rd for a two-vehicle accident with injuries.
After an investigation, it was determined that a Toyota Corolla, operated by 38-year-old Jonathan A Goitia Crespo of Sycamore was traveling northbound on S Chana Rd, crossing the intersection. The Toyota disobeyed the stop sign and struck a Pontiac Vibe, traveling eastbound on E Flagg Rd.
Ashton EMS evaluated the driver of the Pontiac on scene for a minor injury. Goitia Crespo was evaluated on scene by Ashton EMS and transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Goitia Crespo was cited for disregarding a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Ashton EMS assisted deputies at the scene.
