During the most recent Dixon City Council meeting, Dixon Police Chief gave several updates of what is happening at the Police Department. He spoke of several topics and was detailed in most of them.
City Manager Dan Langloss said he was very impressed with the leadership and transparency Chief Bivins has shown in his new position.
Chief Bivins said they are working on getting two new Deputy Chiefs within the month. He said Deputy Chiefs Richards and Lehman are both planning on retirement. Richards in a short time. Deputy Chief Lehman will retire in January.
Bivins said they hope to name their successors in about a month. The department is also looking to hire four new officers. This would get the department back to full strength.
